Ha, I had no idea this sort of thing was out there. My husband and I have the extended versions of each of the three movies. Perhaps this addition is something to watch when he gets home :)
I actually prefer the films to the books, a rarity, I know. Thanks for the link. Prefering the film to the book has only happened one other time. The book was by an American and its adaptation was French, with wonderful casting, and had a completely different sensibility to it than did the book.
Miscellany - glad you enjoyed it. Aren't some people imaginative
CT - yes, we have the three extended versions - as well as the short ones as we didn't want to wait. We love them and sometimes Mr FF will watch all three back to back
Angie - I reckon people either love or hate the Jackson films. We love them
Lulu - Funnily enough I thought you would be an admirer of them
e - They always say you should never see a film of a book that one has particularly enjoyed. Usually for me that applies but not in the case of the LOTR trilogy
My dear, I miss youtube so much for not having internet at home. Thanks for your comment on my blog. I've been frantically busy at work too with lunchtime talks and exhibition tours. I have another art opening tonight!! I'm not a party person as you know...but it's work related so I'd better go and show my face! Do write to me when you have more free time. I have stuff to write to you too but I'll wait for your reply first. Lots of love xxx ASD
I love this century! I watched all the films after having read the books as a child. Once I had seen them, I was done. Albeit I could be talked into a hunt with that elf....

Wow. You know technology is moving fast when ordinary people can start making their own "proper" movies!
And here's my P.A.,Nora, still barely able to spell...
XOXO LOLA:)
I enjoyed Tolkien, particularly the effort he put into his back story, but I'm always dubious about films of books I like.
The 'big' Lord of the Rings film was just absurd, but what I could get up of this was a lot more sympa.
Oh and well done on the WW front again.
Steve - I've only watched a few bits of this film but it does seem ever so good
lOLA - Yes, we have to teach mum everything she ever does on here - misty and poppy bichon
tfitw - I loved the LOTR trilogy - both books and the films. This is a good amateur job, this youtube jobbie.
And thank you :)
Re your last post, I've had a look and taken the word verification off ...I now understand what it was which I didn't when I set it up.
Thanks.
Astonishing and cool. Can't believe it was made for such a small budget.
I'm actually not a fan of Tolkien's books but I did like the films very much.
Mark
tfitw - I'm off to your place now to test it out
Mark - it is good isn't it. I wonder if I will ever watch the whole 40mins though. I might check out some of the other films on Youtube though
Dear Misty & Poppy,
When Mummy left you both with Daddy in that lovely brasserie in St P de V, I hope you didn't help him drink up his bière?
XOXO Tante LOLA:)
Lola - well eventually daddy got a bit bored and went off in search of mummy and we were dragged around hither and thither.
Mummy blogged about St Paul de Vence a couple of years ago. Our photos aren't on there - we were a bit shy on the day

Thanks, that was terrific!

My husband will love this. Can't wait to show him!
I'm not a huge LOTR fan, but I do appreciate the work that goes into these films (and books)

I love Lord of the Rings but, shamefully, have only seen the first two.
ASD - I bet your social party face is very genuine and nobody knows how you would much rather be away from the mob - you hide it very well.
Sorry for my tardy reply to your very lovely newsy letter though.
xx
Fi - How could you not want to know what happened? Or have you read the books and already know?
I love this century! I watched all the films after having read the books as a child. Once I had seen them, I was done. Albeit I could be talked into a hunt with that elf....
We loved them too...and have all of them on DVD!! Chris and I are huge movie fans and have more DVD's than you could shake a stick at!!
C x
I haven't seen them - something about hype does that to me darling.
I might catch this though, I appreciate indie filmmakers and I'm guessing this was done with love and a shoestring.
Thank you for the NBC viewing tips - oh it worked :), X
