There is a new star on British television. His name is (Professor) Brian Cox. He is a particle physicist. He used to be in a rock band. Now he fronts scientific programmes. How to make women interested in science? Let Brian Cox front the show. He is married to this lady. At the moment they are quite a golden couple. She lives in London with their child and he lives in Manchester fighting off the science groupies.

I've not seen him before, I'll look out for one of his shows
Points for the sex appeal - sweet but I'm only giving him 5/10
He's just had a repeated series on BBC2 about the solar system. He does make it all very easy to understand and that's the most important thing for me. He does have a very wavy arm habit, I've got to say.
I've watched all of his science shows on the Beeb and have really enjoyed them. He seems like a very nice boy.
Steve- doesn't he seem a kind bloke. I've been watching some Youtube clips of him chatting to his film crew. He is really really funny (like the time he was with the group and they left their car at Disneyland and could only remember it was a red one. They had to wait for the park to almost be closing and for almost everyone to have gone before spotting it. - that's rock n' roll)
Brian seems like a real savant, someone who can come forward with a new conceptualization some day and back it up with a formula.
And it's all because of the minus sign! Geez, I'm having a hell of a time with French. This language has me completely stymied!
How come I never had science classes held on the beach? And would I trust a teacher who fiddles with his windblown hair?
Nice chap and lovely post. I visited his wife's blog and she seems very down to earth and nice as well. I'll have to see if any of his programmes come out via Netflix at some point. They do seem to get a lot from BBC...
Interesting man, still couldn't quite grasp what the hell he was on about, but I did get fascinated by his endlessly wide boyish grin. Quite put me off concentrating on what he was saying!
We need something, or someone, to contrast against the 'dumbing down' of UK Television, perhaps Prof Cox is it! Love to you, ma chere. Merci! xox
And if it were a double negative would that then push us backwards in time rather than pushing us forward ??? I'd like to go back and watch this again for the first time, as opposed to just watching it a second time...
Paul - I've got to say that I don't understand a lot of what he says but I always try and figure it out - as opposed to other 'dryer' presenters who just make me think 'oh, I'll never understand science'
Delana - you made it to the end - well done. Yes, it's the minus sign (apparently)
(not) Evan - hello there and I looked for your blog, but like some others you choose not to have one. Cox still teaches and I should imagine his mannerisms are quite distracting. I can see why they picked him for telly though. Come back soon.
e - hello there my friend. There are loads of clips on Youtube - some of them really funny. I agree about his wife - she seems just right for him (hark at me saying who is right for someone - but you know what I mean)
Vera - he does have a very very boyish enthusiasm doesn't he. You can easily imagine what he would have been like at 6.
AWONI - hello you. Thank you for popping by. I know how busy you are atm and it is always lovely to see you here. As for Cox being an antidote to the dumbing down - I think BBC 2 and BBC 4 have got much better of late.
Owen - you've got the sort of brain to make jokes about this. I just have to sit and concentrate on the message. Thus you and I are very different in the space time continuum
I love people who can make complicated subjects easy to understand!
Good luck with your poems... you can definitely loan my brain.. just feed it coffee and chocolate! ;-)
I had not seen him before - loads on you tube now I've been and looked, Thanks for that - and for your comments on my last post
Fi - now if I'd had a physics teacher like him I might actually have learnt (learned?) something.
Hello Mark - yes, the Youtube vids I've searched out on the whole have been the silly ones - I bet you looked at the clever ones.
Hi FF, I saw him on the Jonathon Ross show the other week, he is not that young, about fortyish I think, he only looks in his twenties!
I watched his show on the solar system on BBC 4 last night, he is brilliant, he makes it so interesting and easy to understand. being a bit of an arm waver myself, I don't mind his waviness!
God, I sound like a groupie now!
XX
I've not come across him before...I like the way he explains things so clearly!!
(and I have to say, I don't mind his waviness either!)

He seems a bit boyish to me. I like men to be masculine looking for me to consider them sexy.
Hmmmm . . . Fascinating. Never heard of the chap before this. Seems quite clever.
He used more than ten sentences, but then, he's famous. Right?
Dash - I saw the solar system show as well. Wasn't it fascinating - and I even followed what he was saying. He is a very good presenter. I wonder if the Ross interview is still around - maybe that's on Youtube too
Carol - I keep seeing his name everywhere now. He is the media star of the moment
Angie - I don't mind boyish sweet faces at all. I just think that Brian Cox seems decent and kind.
Rob - It was me that used the ten sentences - he can use as many as he likes 'cos he is Clever.
Just popped over to let you know that there is an award for you over at mine :-)

Blow it! I thought you were writing about that wonderful Scottish actor Brian Cox.
This one looks nice tho'. xxx
Carol - I'm an award free zone now but thank you anyway and I'm on my way to tell you so
Jen - I also love the actor Brian Cox. The place I used to work at represented him actually and I met him a few times - he is a lovely bloke
Oh I KNOW! Boy Rugby and I have been catching up on iplayer - why oh why do they put progs like this on at 9pm when 10 year old boys lap the stuff up?!
He is rather cute, but looks about 12. Wonder what the secret is? Always be fascinated? He was on Jonathon Ross the other week and was totally entertaining.
Hiya Reasons - he is so very enthusiastic and it's catching. I found myself sitting agog marvelling at the moons of Jupiter. They have such lovely names - nobody has ever made me interested in things like this before.
Mmmmsexy is intelligence and humour...phoar!!!
so l aint dead yet!!! LOL life in the old ...er....girl yet!
Saz - he is quite cute really. It's good sign that you noticed.
