I have been a bad blogger
Well not so much bad as a bit ambivalent about the blogging awards that periodically circle around. I feel a bit guilty however that blogging friends who have chosen me out of many others are not then given credit for this via me doing a post. So here are two awards kindly given to me by Hadriana, up at that same said wall. What's more I am actually posting them the same day I have received them.
Now I will search through other blogs I adore and find where there are more awards that I have not yet mentioned. By the end of this award-fest you will either be dazzled by my assumed 'greatness' or just sick to death of me.
The next one is from the lovely Dash over at French Sampler and is The Vraiment Française Award, this is awarded to exceptional Bloggers living in France. They are not my words - I would never describe myself as 'exceptional', but it is very flattering to be thus described.
The delightful Nora Johnson (who is another bichon frise owner - hello Lola) gave me this next lovely award for being a blog she had only recently discovered. Mind you the fact this was given to me last June means that I am pretty old hat to her now, but she still loves me. Funnily enough I let my fourth anniversary of having a blog pass unannounced. How remiss of me.
The last one I have managed to find is from Contemporary Troubador and I feel dreadful that is is over a year since she mentioned me by name as the recipient.
Now of course I am struggling to recall which other kind friends gave me awards and then perhaps wondered why I did not bother to post about them. I seem to remember that there are about five or six others and I don't really have a good reason - I just want to say that I do value all your blogs and appreciate the feelings behind these awards.

I know what you mean, FF, about the awards thingy. I hate leaving anybody out most of all. I've quite liked leaving a break and then enjoyed giving them out! So ...Well done lass! We all enjoy how much effort you put into your blog..keep up the good work!
Today blogging awards... tomorrow the BAFTAs (well, it's nice to dream).
Thank you Hadriana - and I'm not going to pick bloggers to pass them on to - it's less responsibility that wat
Steve - I know you are not one to show off your blogging awards but they are still nice to receive, aren't they?
I know exactly what you mean, dear FF! I've now got extremely guilty thoughts about a whole raft of awards gathering dust hanging in my sidebar dear blogpals have given over the past EIGHTEEN months and which I haven't yet got around to dusting, never mind passing on!
Anyway, congrats on all your so well-deserved awards - btw you did a far better job on that Oscar podium than Kate Winslet!!
Have a great weekend!
Love to my bichon nieces from Tante Lola xx
XOXO LOLA:)
...still think they look a bit like poodles!
Nora - isn't it creepy how the time flies so very fast. I'd never have thought it was nearly a year since you'd given me that one - it just doesn't seem like it.
Tim - Wotcher. I've got to say that I hold you and Dumdad in somewhat special regard. I'd had my blog for about three years with a few people that I know from the Guardian forum leaving the odd comment. But one day, after I had posted about a French tv programme, both you and the afore-mentioned ex- man from Grubb Street left a comment. After that they just seemed to trickle in and I gave myself a new look and my blog 'took off'. All those years of blogging just for me were great but it is somewhat lovelier now to have bloggers that I truly care about.
Congrats to you and the 3 bloggers you've mentioned. I'm really bad about awards too. I have 2 that I've done nothing about. Shame on me!
And all deserved, I might observe of one of my favorite bloggers and people.
I've noticed alot of blogs that declare themselves as "award-free zones"... All these awards that go around, they're a nice thought, but can be a burden too, as there is a bit of an obligation felt to do something with them, pass them on, acknowledge, and so forth... but nice to see these... and congratulations on your exceptional presence in the blogosphere...
What is this "bad blogger" nonsense, Julie? Blogging is just friends sharing thoughts with other friends, when they have the time and energy.
You can trust the Bear on that one.
Dedene -- I think it's because you see the same awards on blog after blog and it can seem a bit repetitive. I did my own ones last year with my French Fancy avatar as the award but I think that is a one-off occasion really. (never say never though)
Aw thanks Ian. I have noticed in fact that it is the female bloggers who seem to love the awards more. Must be a girly thing.
Owen - 'award-free zone' sounds a very good statement to have and I wish I had gone with that early on. Once I got my first one though I just got sucked into this whole back-slapping exercise.
Rob - yes, but there is a certain netiquette in blogging. I sometimes feel bad that I don't go and visit all the new people that post on here. I mean to and then I forget.
Congrats on the awards! I don't think people are offended that you don't write about it... I notice that more and more blogs are award-free.
Lots of lovely awards. I think it was quite nice to devote one post to showcase them all.
Ladyfi - right, I'm going to leave it a few months and then take off all my awards and call it a 'free zone'. We'll keep it under wraps for now :p
Thank you DJ - hope your weekend has been a good one.
"Netiquette?" What's that?
Remember, the Bear is provinçal. Très provinçal. And worse than that, sacre bleu, from one of the colonies, La France Nouvelle.
What could you possibly expect such a Bear to know about "netiquette"?
In case you don't see the comments on my blog, here's the info for the lasagna...
When you use the ricotta with eggs it stays firm and is not at all runny.
For a large rectangular pan, I used 3 liters of tomato sauce, 1 kilo of chicken breasts -- ground, about 500-600 grams of mushrooms and 2 big red bell peppers. I let all that cook together until pretty dense. If your sauce is too liquidy, then it will seep through to all the layers.
My ricotta layer is never polluted by the tomato sauce, it all seems to stay in place.
After that, I just layered it up, sauce, noodles, sauce, noodles, ricotta mix, noodles, sauce then some mozarella.
In the oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes. You can cover it with aluminium if it browns too quickly.
I used Barilla ready-to-cook lasagna noodles (takes about 1-1/4 packages).
Hope that works for you!
I'll wait for one teeny weeny award. THEN I'll nix 'em! However, you deserve them all et felicitations!
You do deserve them sweetie.
Hope you are well on this Sunday night. Gotta get new glasses - blow it! xxxx
So well deserved in my view.
You should start a fondant icing award or something like that; 'the cherry on top award' perhaps.
Mark
Just stopping by to say hello to you and Misty and Poppy!! Have a fabulous Sunday!!
Oh, FF, you darling. Thanks for the mention and no worries! These blog awards can get to be quite a challenge with all the requirements they come with (and you can see how I totally flouted the rules on the last one I was given). I'll echo the sentiments of several of the other bloggers commenting here on the whole obligation thing :)
Rob - well, one of the things that I think is important with netiquette - I know certain bloggers who blog an awful lot and I am always leaving comments on their pages but they seldom do on mine. That is not good netiquette. You are not included in this btw - in fact 99% of the people on my blogroll are not included in this - I am just thinking of one person and it has begun to bug me.
Dedene - yes, I saw and I am very grateful. When I went to the supermarket before I was very cross to find that they had sold out of ricotta. I can see this being a weekend meal now - but I love lasagne and I am going to sit down later on and work out how many WW points the whole thing would work out.
Delana - the awards go around in phases. Please take one of the top two - they are meant to be passed around anyway; I just prefer not to single anyone out.
Jen - thank you Jennifer

Mark - I've done the French Fancies - oh so last year, my friend
Hello bb - a fellow bichon owner
xx
CT - It's always lovely to see you here
I really like getting awards...not because I think my blog is anything special but because someone has thought to pass one to me. I also like the way that, when I can't think of anything to blog about, I can dust one off and do the Meme that's associated with it!!
Your awards are very well deserved hon...I love reading your blog!

Aw thank you Carol.
xx
I'm terrible at the award-go-round business. It is nice to be appreciated though and it's great that you are so award-encrusted
Lulu - I am just crusted full stop.
Congratulations FF, you are deserving! Honestly, you are one of my most favorite people out there.
Hello FF, It's been really interesting reading all the comments on this post, I complete understand and agree with all points of view.
I don't care what you say, you are exceptional!

Dash - you are very kind and right back at yer!
