Well, we've now got our rescued bichon and what a sweetie she is. She is very affectionate and loving and we've named her Poppy.
A bichon's coat needs to be constantly looked after (our existing bichon, Misty, goes to the groomer every five weeks) and this little dog has never been to a groomer in all of her 2.5 years. I've bribed our groomer with a vast sum of money to get Poppy's coat sorted out. I fear she may have to be shaved as that will be less painful than combing out each and every mat.
I think she also has an ear problem and we're off to the vet this morning to get her checked out.

Happy new dog! And in the circumstances, that would seem a likely outcome :-)
And she's getting happier all the time. She's off to the groomers tomorrow morning and then I'll post before and after pics
They are so gorgeous. I wish I had the time and the space for a pet. They look totally adorable and very cuddly.
