Bloggy soggy weather

I think all this rain is upsetting things in Blogland because the weirdest thing just happened. I was leaving a comment on a fellow blogger's post ( Elizabeth's blog - About New York) and it came up with a differently formatted comment box. I duly posted my message and then, when it didn't appear (sigh), I did it again in a normal looking box this time. Lo and behold about an hour later the first comment appeared as a new post from me on my blog. So peculiar.

Another strange thing that happened a few days ago is that I began getting e-mail notifications about bloggers leaving comments on other blogs - have I been selected by Blogger for experimentation?

My third and final moan about Blogger is the fact that you can no longer click on any of your 'interests' or 'books' etc and be shown a list of fellow-bloggers with the same taste as you. It just comes up with 'Profiles Not Found'. Is this a temporary blip or is it just with my page?

Anyway, moving on, I know I love my Rocket Dog rain boots but I'd be happy for a chance to put them back in the cupboard. In fact there is currently a contender for the crown of My Favourite Shoe. I recently discovered a make I had never heard of - Arche - and they make the loveliest shoes imaginable. They are based in the Loire Valley and if only their shoes weren't expensive at a particularly impoverished time of my live, well I would buy a few pairs. I really like these blue leather summer shoes in the photo but in the current downpour I would get very soggy feet!

This has happened before. Blogger.com has more than a few bugs...

I wonder how long it will take for this post to replace phantom post in people's sidebars. This was a bit disconcerting actually.

How odd -- the title of your post shows up on my blogroll right now as "ABOUT NEW YORK: A Walk" (which is not what the title of this post is). Blogger is definitely on the fritz ...

Hope the rain lets up a little. Wouldn't mind if you sent some of it our way -- my irises are thirsty!

Seems as if your blogger is still playing up, came to see your latest post about NewYork and walking but it said page not found.
Never mind...love the blue shoes they look as if they might tempt me out of sneakers or my Uggs.

I could get very paranoid about Google, but then I realise that they're not coming to get me - they arrived long ago and are living inside the walls of my very being, reading my thoughts, probably transmitting them on other people's blogs...

Mr Blogger strikes again! Recently had to endure site blocks, comment box blocks & loss of followers' lists... Enough to drive anyone to WordPress!

However, love the shoes! Have heard of Arche before but will definitely investigate further since am due to visit France next month!

That is very strange indeed.

It's rainy in England too - after a few hot weeks, what a miserable summer it is now turning out to be.

Its a' raining in London, you're missing London. It's even to rainy to sit in a Cafe and watch the pools form in the streets.

Have you heard of the wellies/ rubber boots that look like riding boots? Quite cute, I might think about getting a pair.

I know about the prof/interests thing, apparently it's a problem they're working on - it's a machine and liable to break. I have to remind myself that there aren't THAT many people who have seen "The Knack and How to Get IT"

Hmm..I also had the same experience as Contemporary Troubadour. I also recently had a problem in that my Followers box was blank and even though it showed the number of followers on my Dashboard, if I clicked on it I got nothing. I searched and found that lots of bloggers had been experiencing the same. It's been rectified now...but I do wonder why these things happen.

The shoes are lovely...buy them now or live to regret it!

I've had different problems with blogger lately with posting. It didn't show the post, then it did...and so on. Also in my lists of posts things vanish. Odd, very odd.

Love the shoes. Great colour.

I had the followers problem...I had no idea that you could - once - see contact lists of people with similar interests.
I generally think it is me when things go wrong...touched something, tried to alter something, so it's reassuring to see that it could be Blogger.I shall use this in daily life...the freezer has switched to fridge mode...blame Blogger. The shower attachment is wonky...blame Blogger.
Life is looking better immediately.
Those shoes look great.

I noticed the weirdness this morning...........
anyway I love the shoes.
Your mother was right about red and pink umbrellas.
I think the Victorians suggested RED dining rooms to enliven the complexions of all those wan consumptives.........or something.

I have discovered shoes by Reikel (I'm not a good speller) very cool and comfortable

Daughter: Ma, did you mug a Guatamalan peasant...?

ps I'mworking on changing over to TYPEPAD once I can fathom how it works....better designs.

I think Blogger has a few glitches. It seems to have a nervous breakdown every few months or so - I wouldn't take it personally!

FF- please, please send us some of your rain. Here in the SouthWest of France we've had none since April. The garden looks like the aftermath of some sort of 'scorched earth' policy. VLiF

Oh - I do like those sandals! Lucky for us with sunshine at the moment... hopefully the rain will stay away from Northern Europe...

I'm on Wordpress so don't have Blogger problems. But everyone else certainly is complaining about Blogger at the mo.

FF, sigh, it has rained here all day, dogs still want to walk round the fields, out we go, come back soaked, you feel damp all day, I actually lit a fire in the dining room to dry us out, my hair is permanently wet, makes you feel melancholy when the sky is constantly dark, and wet stuff is falling from it, and you find it hard to believe this is the 2nd of August, once again, another miserable wet summer, apart from a few nice dry weeks in June.

I am having terrible problems getting onto anybody's blog, I get on, then the page disappears, I thought it was just me, maybe the rain is interfering with the land of blog.

Very lost in France, you can have some of our Irish rain, we have more than enough to spare.

Will New York disappear every time it rains? Might be a good thing.

The same thing has happened to Robert Braults post...it doesn't show the current post.

I enjoyed your confession on stealing. I've taken up the challenge and posted a confession too.

TAF - I forgot to mention the hit counter as well on the profile page - it's all an approximation these days because it doesn't count profile hits anymore - not that it really matters but it's another thing to moan about

Contem - it's still raining - days and days in a row now (or that is what it seems like anyway)

Moannie - those shoes look gorgeous. If only they weren't £122 I would buy them like that (snaps fingers), but it seems a lot for everyday shoes

Lulu - I also get spooked out by things from time to time

Nora - I'm not that taken with the word press layout but can understand why they are winning fans atm

Carrie - I've got summer stuff I've not even worn yet!

Clarity - I do get homesick for London, it's true - quite often these days, yet the thought of going back for a quick trip is not very appealing. Yes, I am a contradiction :)

Ayak - I predict in a couple of months blogging about those shoes being sold out now and being miserable about it

Reasons - I'm glad others are having blogger probs - I shouldn't be but it is nice not to be singled out :)

flyintheweb - actually I did put a fly in a web of a little red spider that was living in our kitchen. I called it Ginge but it seems to have disappeared - maybe it was the wrong sort of fly

Elizabeth - I've got a habit of having rosy cheeks from time to time and a red umberella would make me perpetually red in the rain - when I do my utmost to stay chalky white (well, pasty anyway)

Steve - yes, these comments are very consoling

VLIF - yes, I saw your post earlier about leaving your pots out for overnight rain and then not getting any - we've got your ration

Ladyfi - Wordpress does seem more reliable than blogger I must say. Hope the rain stays away

Ann - we made a vow earlier in the year to take the dogs out for a daily walk along the canal path whatever the weather - but the place is beginning to perpetually smell like wet dog.
Hope you're doing okay
x

Ken - I'm coming over to see what crimes and misdemeanours you have confessed to

If you are tired of the rain, please redirect it here! It's so dry and hot here, I'm fed up. :)

Canada being a big country, we've had huge amounts of rain in some places, and very little in others.

I share your concern about blogger. But I think the rain must be ruining its circuitry. (That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.)

And I see your indulging your foot fetish again. Hmmmm . . .

Luvverly shoes on you. Now, we can take some of your rain, if you will oblige. Here it is searing and there are forest fires rampantly spreading everywhere. It's not comforting.

I hope you get your blogging bugs sorted. Bloody annoying! Liking the shoes ;)

FF, not doing too bad, hope you are well my friend.

I have to take Tommy and Charlie out, no matter what the weather, though when it is monsoon rain, I put my foot down.

Must be hallucinating here, weather has been lovely these past two days, sun, yes sun FF, and I don't mind walking my dogs one little bit, I walk their legs off them when the weather is lovely.

Our house smells like wet dogs as well, and muddy boot.

No problems to report here for a change, probably because I am not managing to do much blogging, but I am trying to get back into it, really I am.

Love your blue shoes for the rain. It has finally stopped raining here in the UK (well, for ten minutes) and last Saturday I went for a splash around in the mud and rain at the Riverside Festival and even got to pretend to read the weather report for the BBC! Great fun.

Check out my latest stew based blog post. You get a mention.

Blogger swallowed and disappeared a whole posting of mine, FF - I went back to it one day - I'd pre-posted it a week or so before, and the title and references links were there but the entire body of the post had gone! Bizarre!

I do love those Arche shoes, they look so comfortable. Congrats on trying to lose weight - A goal to aim for is such aa great incentive... Good luck!

As for the 2:2, well, it's still a good pass (can you tell it's the grade I got back in the Eighties, after working really, really hard?!), and perhaps it's the fact that you think quite a lot about what you write, and have your own opinions and thoughts... Sometimes the examiners want you to have the standard viewpoints and critiques, and don't appear to like individuals...

Take care, FF! Fhi x

bindu - I couldn't bear hot weather day after day. I quite like rain and cool actually

I feel rotten I've not answered individual comments after bindu's. Got no excuse. It's not that you don't matter to me, quite the reverse - but I've run out of silly things to say

Oohh, FF, I've got a pair of drop dead fab black suade Arche heels, (for Family Princess' wedding) and not only do they look good...THEY'RE COMFORTABLE.

Don't waste another second, buy some now!
