REVISED lazy post for Thursday

Of course I'm not so full of myself that I really think my blog is sublime. It's just a link to the OU essay that I've submitted and a bit of a celebratory moment. By sending it in a day or so early I give myself a day off, just to play around and get on with stupid things - like this picture. It cost me a fortune* though to get this slogan put on buses.

*I did something bad yesterday. I pinched copied an image from someone else's blog without giving them due credit. Of course I didn't pay thousands to get the old blog advertised on the side of a bus.I got it from here.

Disgraceful waste of money! Couldn't they have donated it all to help starving orphans in Africa!

Bloody atheists!!!!!!!!

Oh hang on, its about a blog.

I want a bus slogan! Or failing that, a T-shirt. Should have gone into politics but sadly am neither stupid nor dishonest enough (oooh, satire...).

I love it, FF - I want one!

p.s. were you the one calling me desperate yesterday? - LOL! xox

Dumdad said...

I did the same thing but on a TGV. The trouble was no one could read it as it was going too fast...

Love the photo! Good way to celebrate the finishing of the OU essay.

I can go one better - I had my blog made into a film. Mind you, it was all greek to me.

FF, cute, funny and fabulous and rolled into one! So glad you got that burden of a paper off your back! Any more assignments like that and you'll wonder why you decided to subject yourself to such pressure. (I usually go through that anyway!)

Blu said...

Hey Cool......Maybe I could mine on a French tractor they are so slow everyone would have to read it!!!

Glad the assignment hurdle has been lept over.boing boing Blu x

I think I saw that bus heehee, my friend is due any minute now to take me out (it's my first outing in days away from the blog yikes). so I have to dash, I just wanted to say thank you and will be back later to catch up on the glove confession. enjoy your day off, BBFN, Kathy.

Maybe you could have dog coats made with the same slogan?:-)

And well done for getting your essay in early.

I'd love a wildcat striker to hold up a placard advertizing my blog. Or just a wildcat. That would be cool.

It's only a joke - a mock up from the net

Marie Reed said...

I wonder how much it really would cost to do that? Hmmmm!

lady jicky said...

Mmmm - I thought those blue and yellow gloves would "go to your head"! LOL

Ian Lidster said...

Ooh, can I get one of those to put on our buses? I'll do one for your blog as well, of course.

Hee hee, I love it! Excellent advertising, mock-up or otherwise. And hooray for being done with the essay.

Anon - some of my favourite bloggers come from Tunbridge Wells - and you are one of them, sir. (Ipresume you are male).

Lucy - I've done the link now - you can go and get a fishwife slogan

AWONI - did I use the word desperate? It doesn't sound like me. Go and get a slogan

Dumdad - you could never accuse a London bus of going too fast

LadyFi - I'm worried about you and your weather now after your story yesterday. Don't go out till the snow has gone

Troy - clever, very clever

Cynthia - funnily enough, it's been the hardest but I think it's the one I've enjoyed thrashing out the most.

Blu - go on, do something silly with the bus link - something really arty

Mama - your life sounds so wonderful. Maybe we should life-swap for a week or so

Lane - coats? coats?. But I like the advert idea - they already think I'm a bit odd around here - that would just confirm it.

Steve - the next time I'm in a picket line it's a deal

Marie - there should be some figures available (if you are interested) because of the recent atheist bus

ladyj - they should be with me by Monday - getting a bit excited, in a cool way of course :)

Ian - what your bus fleet needs some advertising ideas? Oh go on then.

Cont.Troub. _ I bet you are one happy person now - together at last (or is it still on the horizon?)

You are a very naughty person and should be deeply deeply ashamed of yourself. You misled an entire nation, and that, lady, is ... naughty!!

i wouldn't feel bad, FF. Its a dog eat dog world in Blogland. If you didn't pinch it, someone else would.

You are clever with your images.

xxxxx

Anon - guess what, I deleted the Daily Mail from my bookmarks because my morning reading of it was becoming a bad ritual. So you go on in your DM world without me!

Jen - or even blog eat blog world :)

What a clever idea which wipes out the bad taste of both banners [sorry, but it is that kind of mindboggling stupidity...ah shut up Annie!]
Anyway, what impressed me also is the fact that you managed to get your TMA back EARLY! I was never late, but always got them back by the skin of my teeth.
Going to post about OU soon.

It is shocking how intolerant otherwise normal people are towards atheists putting adverts on the side of buses given what they were put up in response to.

Forget 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells'; 'excited of Boston' here. I love it. And I'm nicking it!!

French Fancy... said...

Moannie - I gotta say it girl, I liked the idea of different things on the sides of buses. Anything that shakes people up a bit as they meander on their travel-work-travel-rest-sleep treadmill in London.

I usually try and get my essays in a couple of days early - I reckon I then get marked quicker (except it hasn't worked out like that this year) and I give myself a few days then without opening a text book or doing audio-visual OU stuff.

Anon, my friend, we are in accord on this subject but I do keep a light blog here - please come back though.

The Dotterel - it's great innit. Be my excited guest.

Have you read how the God Squad are os upset with the Atheists that they've paid for a load of 'There definitely is a GOD' slogans.

... were you saying something about me having more than my fair share of nutters where I live?

cheshire wife said...

That red bus seems to be getting around. I have seen it on another blog. Not unique any more!

Let's swap this week FF, It is pouring down with rain here and I have to prepare dinner for an excellent cook and her husband and I cant cook to save my life, you would make a much better job and I could spend a day in Quimper. I forgot to say well done with getting your essay in early and I am also so nicking the bus idea :-) xx Kathy.

justme said...

Of COURSE your blog is sublime!!
I agree with that advert!!
Love it.

Hi again, FF -- indeed, I've made it safely home. And I even graded en route :).

nikkicrumpet said...

Well I too think your blog is sublime...even if you steal pictures from other blogs lol

French Fancy... said...

Lulu- I think it's going to run and run and anything that is a bit different - well, it was in the beginning - is good.

cheshire wife - all the good ideas go round and round though. Just as the first person who ever did a blog found that the next day there were quite a few more. There is very little unique-ness in the world today

Kathy - yes, but it's not just about the food - it's about the state of the table, the ambience, the chatter and laughter and I'm not agreeing with you that you can't cook (cos I bet you can), but I know you supply everything else in spades.

Nick away

justme - merci mille fois mon amie

ContemTroub - I'm very happy for you, really - and glad you had no 'incidents' with the weather

nikki - that did make me laugh -and everyone who knows your wonderful blog knows exactly why.

david mcmahon said...

But we KNOW your blog is sublime.

French Fancy... said...

david, it's not that I'm 'bigging' myself up to use popular vernacular - it's just that my recent OU essay was about the original meaning of the 'sublime'.

A Super Dilettante said...

Ms. FF, Well done finishing your essay. Hooray! I love your picture! It's super. I hope you'd agree with me that Edmund Burke is not something you would treat it as a light reading! I remember falling asleep reading his book on Sublime and above all, Kant's writing on the same subject is far worse that it cures my insomania while I was at the university!

French Fancy... said...

ASD - thank you my friend. Burke certainly didn't know the meaning of Plain English - I know he was a man of his time but he had contemporaries who knew how to keep it fairly short and snappy.

I've not read any Kant - yet.

Hi FF...have you deleted me? Hope I haven't inadvertently p'd you off! :( If I have - am mega sorry. One of the complaints I have about blogging is that there are no wild hand signals, gesticulating, body language and stuff to go with it. Sometimes plain old words on paper or pixels don't cut it. More's the pity. And yes, I've missed you whilst I have been away! Hxx

French Fancy... said...

Merisi - thanks sweetie

Hadriana - I am so sorry - full explanation left on your diet blog
