Saturday by the canal

A picnic lunch along the Nantes-Brest canal ended up of course as a walk in the brilliant sunshine, only it was sunny where the lunch bench was and it became cloudy as we walked along. Jeez- resorting to weather filler now.

It looks like a 45 degree ramp in the distance. How would a boat get over that? Confus.

The canal runs parallel with the weir (for some reason). The lock gates - out of sight in the picture - are just beside the ramp.

doesn't look very sunny really, but it was.

The two 45 degree ramps are for kayaks to go down. The locks are on the right and are three pairs of gates.

I'm glad someone understands this sort of thing. You must either be a kayaker or know the canal.
